There’s no closure date yet for Carrickboy post office in Longford or Newtowngore and Killargue in Leitrim. although all the people running those services have indicated they may be taking the redundancy package.

Sinn Fein councillor Brendan Barry says the closure of Aghacashel post office today will bring a long tradition to an end, and the Lee family similar to others around the country had been let down by successive governments as services were directed away from them.
