Fifty new jobs are expected to be created in the short term at Drumshanbo Food Hub as a result of new funding, while up to 137 could be created in total of 2020.
That’s according to the Chairman of Drumshanbo Commuhjity Council Enda McGloin who says that funding of €953,000 will allow them expand the space at the hub by almost 9,000 square feet.
The Food Hub was established in 2004 when Drumshanbo Community Council took the opportunity to restore the premises as an state of the art food specific enterprise centre of 14 individual food business units.
The centre attracted funding of over €370,000 under Town and Village and REDZ funding in recent years.
Chairman of Drumshanbo Community Council Enda McGloin says today’s announcement will allow the Hub to be further established as a recognised brand with top class products.
He says it comes at an opportune time for expansion.
