The 14 refugee families being resettled in Leitrim will be accommodated in Carrick-on-Shannon and Drumshanbo.
Leitrim County Council today announced a total of 50 people will be coming to the county.
It’s part of the Irish Refugee Protection Programme, with the state accommodating 4,000 mostly Syrian people.
Leitrim council has announced eight families will arrive in the coming days, with a further six to arrive over the next year.
A total of 50 will come to the county, and local Sinn Féin councillor Seadhna Logan says they’re coming to the south of the county.
