Longford County Council has been shortlisted in the Health and Safety Excellence Awards for 2023.
The local authority features in the public sector category and the awards recognise best practice and innovation in health and safety.
Longford's nomination follows their wins of the Regional and the Continuous High Achiever accolades at the All-Ireland Occupational Safety Awards.

Longford County Council is the only local authority in the country to be nominated.
The awards ceremony takes place at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Dublin at the end of March and Chief Executive Paddy Mahon says the nomination is a credit to all those involved in ensuring emphasis is placed on health and safety.
