Hundreds of people in Roscommon are without power tonight after two major faults in Boyle and Ballaghdereen.

The ESB has confirmed a substation fault around 5pm in Ballaghaderreen resulted in loss of supply to approx 7,000 customers. ESB Networks crews were immediately dispatched restoring power to customers in the area, with about 600 customers still without supply. Power is expected to be restored to all customers before 9pm before.

electricityA related cable fault on a medium voltage line around 5pm resulted in a loss of supply to customers in Boyle. Crews were also dispatched immediately and are continuing to restore supply. Approximately 200 customers remain without power and again, it crews expect to restore supply by this evening.
