Catherine Martin will cut the ribbon at the National Famine Museum in Strokestown this afternoon, months after it opened to visitors.

It's hoped work might begin later this year on construction.

The plans are all being considered as a means of helping the local areas in the wake of the closure of the power station and Bord Na Mona works

One influencer was paid almost €4,000 to promote Leitrim.

The south Longford town was the only area locally to receive the special funding

The rules say live music is allowed in outdoor settings and social events of up to 200 people can be held.

The changes come as part of the fallout from the controversial event organised at the Merrion Hotel by Katherine Zappone, which was attended by Tánaiste Leo Varadkar.
