Eleven birds of prey died as result of human interference in the last 12 years in the Shannonside Northern Sound region.

A new report published this week from the National Parks and Wildlife Service reveal that four incidents occurred in Leitrim between 2007 and 2019 - with three in Roscommon and two in Cavan.

The incidents include shooting, poisonings , trapping as well as strikes against wind turbines.

Three birds of prey have died in Roscommon, Leitrim and Monaghan in the last 12 years - with two in Cavan and none in Longford.
