Country music fans remembering Big Tom on first anniversary of his death

Today marks a year since the King of Country, Big Tom McBride, passed away.

Thousands turned out in his native Oram to pay their respects at his
funeral, with the world of country music also represented.

Over 3,000 people were in Castleblayney in September to see President Michael D Higgins unveil a statue of Big Tom at the Market House.


Fans from around the country attended Big Tom’s anniversary mass held in Oram last Saturday.

Speaking on The Joe Finnegan Show today, his daughter Siobhán Ford thanked fans for their thoughts and messages.
