Fine Gael councillor Paul Ross called for an update on the installation of cameras in Ballymahon and Edgeworthstown at a recent Ballymahon Municipal District meeting.

The local authority is currently in the process of adding a further 11 cameras to the network at different locations around the town.

A number of business owners say the increasing criminal behaviour is putting their livelihoods at risk.

French prosecutors are continuing their investigation following the incident, with forensic tests ongoing and images from CCTV being studied.

The main item stolen from the premises on last weekend was a diesel quad

John Farrell believes CCTV won't solve the issue on it's own.

The suspect has been identified on local CCTV footage.

It's hoped that County Councils can apply for extra funding to help ease the financial cost of camera systems.
