Robert Troy TDThe IDA has confirmed that all manufacturing jobs at Cameron will be fully gone by next June.

Local TDs, as well as county councillors, met with representatives from the foreign investmanet group  this afternoon to discuss last week’s news that the gas and oil engineering company was to let 170 staff go at its Longford base.

The meeting between the Corporate Policy Group of Longford County Council and the IDA lasted approximately 90 minutes and a further meeting is due to take place in December to issue an update on proposals brought to today’s meeting.

Speaking afterwards Longford Westmeath TD Robert Troy explained the key issues raised.
