The Minister for Finance is putting the finishing touches to his speech to the Dáil on October 11th, with hopes high that an announcement in relation to easing the funding crisis in colleges will be made.

The Fine Gael was speaking today as it was announced that Athlone IT is set to receive €750,000 as part of government funding to fund small-scale building works, refurbishment and to upgrade equipment that may be out of date, and to address healthy and safety needs.

The announcement has also been welcomed by Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran and Deputy Burke feels that the Budget must address the third level funding crisis.
