Annie is 70 but feels the housing crisis is not just affecting younger people.

A 70-year-old woman living in Roscommon says she has no choice but to go on working in order to make ends meet.

Annie Curbelo Lang who worked abroad for several years says she rents her home and the state pension is not enough for older people in her position.

She says she's on the HAP scheme and is on the list for social housing, but can see no option but to keep working part-time right now.

Speaking on the Let's Talk show this afternoon Annie says she's not alone in renting her home and the issue will become more common in future years…

"The concept in Ireland is that 90% of people own their own home. I'm not part of that 90% because I chose to travel, I left the country when I was young. and that's just what happened, that's just my own personal stuff. But I'm not alone in the world as a 70-year who doesn't own their own property.

In 20 years time, or not sooner, this will be the reality for many people because there is going to be people in their 30s or 40s who can't afford to buy their own house or are renting and will still be renting when they are retired."
