Gardaí in Boyle are warning people not to be taken in by the latest phone-scams where callers are pretending to be from the Revenue Commissioners.
The organisers of the scam are pretending to be calling from Revenue, and are telling people that they face fines if they do not co-operate and send on their bank details.
Some people are getting live phones calls and some are having messages left on their phones.
Garda Inspector Tom Colsh from Boyle garda station says they have received numerous calls over the past week from people about the scam.
He says people should remember that legitimate financial institutions will never ask they to reveal their bank details over the phone, or even through an email.
