Monday, April 18th 2022. Peacefully, at Mayo University Hospital surrounded by her heart-broken family.

Pre-deceased by her parents Pat and Anne, her brothers-in-law Seamus Maughan and Cy Francome.

Valerie Hester (nee Stauton), loving wife of Pat and mother to Patrick (Norway), Mark (Ballinlough), Brendan (Perth), Fergal (Sydney) and Grace (Loughlynn). Sadly missed by her loving husband, her sons and daughter, and her adored grandsons Aleksander and Kristian. Her sisters Nancy (Barnicle, UK), Rose (Maughan, Killala) and Bridie (O’Connor, Strokestown). Daughters-in-law Kari, Chloe and Stacey, Brendan’s partner Marrie and Grace’s partner Shane. Brothers-in-law Edward, Thomás, Micheál, Stiofán, JT, and Chris. Sisters-in-law Mary (Cahill), Breda (Forde), Ann (Hester) and Claire (Hester). Nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, extended family, neighbours and her many friends especially her lifelong friends in the UK.

Reposing at McDonagh’s Funeral Home Castlerea, on Thursday evening from 5 o’clock until 8 o’clock (Walk through only please). Funeral arriving to the Church of the Immaculate Conception Ballinlough on Saturday morning for Funeral Mass at 12 noon with burial afterwards in Ballinlough Cemetery.
