John Gilboy

Ardcarne, Cootehall, Co. Roscommon.

John Gilboy passed away on Monday, May 22nd 2023, peacefully, following a short illness, surrounded by his heart broken family.

Pre-deceased by his parents Paddy and Lina, sisters Redempta and Frances.

John will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Peggy, daughters Carmel and Mairéad, sons Shane, Pat, Tony and Kevin, his sister Maura Noone (Claremorris), brothers Raymond (Galway) and Paddy (Cootehall) Cherished grandfather to Eimear, Seán, Fiona and Júlia, Noah, Martyna, Thomas and Jonathan, Suín and Aoibhín. Sadly missed by his daughters-in-law, Ester, Renata and Aga, son-in-law Cathal and Kevin’s partner Ciara, his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, extended family, neighbours and his many friends.

May he rest in peace

John will repose at his home, on Tuesday (23rd May) from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. House private, please, at all other times. Requiem Mass will be celebrated in St. Michael’s Church, Cootehall, on Wednesday at 12 noon, followed by burial afterwards in Ardcarne Cemetery.
Family flowers only please. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Irish Cancer Society.

My deepest condolences to the Gilboy family, relatives and friends. It is sad to hear of John's passing. I was a pupil of John's in carrick technical school in the mid 80s and found John to be a gentleman. May he rest in peace 🙏🙏
