Celtic beat Rangers in Old Firm Derby

Celtic go into the Scottish Premiership’s winter break with a 19-point lead after they recorded a 15th straight league win today, coming from behind to beat old firm rivals, second placed Rangers 2-1 at Ibrox.

Kenny Miller put Rangers ahead on the twelfth minute mark, but Dembele equalised for Celtic after thirty-three minutes to leave the sides level at the interval. Dembele’s goal was his fifth goal in his last three games against Rangers.

However, Celtic sealed the victory courtesy of a Scott Sinclair close-range strike on seventy minutes, and the leaders held on for another Old Firm triumph.

The result also ended Rangers impressive thirty-three match unbeaten home record at their Ibrox fortress. Both teams had chances to add to their tally, but it is Celtic who are marching towards another Premiership title, while Rangers stay second despite the defeat, but they are only two points clear of third place Aberdeen who have a game in hand.
