Longford Town defeated Athlone Town by two goals to one in their midland derby clash in the Airtricity League of Ireland first division encounter at Flancare Park on Saturday night.
The home side led two nil courtesy of goals from Lester (a penalty) and Ekanem before Austin Skelly scored a consolation goal for the visitors, before he was dismissed for a second bookable offence in the eighty-third minute.
