Buccaneers Darragh Murray and Jordan Conroy have both been called up for international duty this weekend.
Connacht academy player Conroy has been included in the Irish men’s seven’s team for this weekend’s Elche seven’s in Spain.
Ireland will face Spain, Wales and Russia on Saturday before facing France and the Viator Barbarians on Sunday.
While Buccaneers under 17 captain Darragh Murray has been selected on the Ireland under 18 squad participating in an international tournament in Portugal over the bank holiday weekend.
A versatile and immensely talented sportsman, St. Ciaran’s College student Murray is just 16-years-old.
Murray scored a goal last weekend for St. Brigid’s in their Roscommon Minor Football final victory over Clan Na Gael and was a key member of the Roscommon under 17 football team which made their way to the All-Ireland final last August.
Hailing from a family with strong sporting tradition with grandfather Noel Murray being renowned in Roscommon GAA circles, while Darragh’s older brother Niall also played at lock for Ireland U-18’s last season.
18-year-old Niall Murray has made two appearances for Connacht Eagles in the British & Irish Cup this season.
