Roscommon v Mayo; Both sides previewed

Goals from Cian Connolly and Brian Stack in each half saw Roscommon claim their first Connacht title in seven years with victory over Galway as they avenged last year’s 11-point final defeat to the tribesman with a classy showing at Pearse Stadium winning out by 2-15 to 0-12 points

Stephen Rochford’s Mayo got the better of Cork after extra time in the All Ireland qualifers last weekend to win by 27 points to 2-20.

It means that both sides have qualified for the quarter finals where they are being pitted against each other on Sunday afternoon at 4pm. Club Rossie Chairman David OConnor will be on commentatory duty with Frankie Dolan and match commentator Willie Hegarty on Shannonside Northern Sound.
