Roscommon defeated by Mayo in All Ireland quarter final

Connacht champions Roscommon’s 2017 All Ireland football championship ended at the quarter final stage after being defeated in the replay by neighbours Mayo in Croke Park on a score of 4-19 to 0-09. Cillian O’Connor scored 1-6 and Kevin McLoughlin (24th minute), Andy Moran (25th minute) and Keith Higgins (28th minute) also found the net for last years beaten All-Ireland finalists. Stephen Rochfords side were 0-06 up after 16 minutes and were 3-8 to 0-4 ahead at half-time.

O’Connor got his goal in the 45th minute and  Roscommon were reduced to 14 men when substitute Fintan Cregg was dismissed for a second bookable offence in the second half.Mayo now march on the All Ireland Semi-Final where they’ll face Kerry on the 20th of August.
