Mullinalaghta Advance In Leinster Championship

Mullinalaghta 1-14

Eire Og 1-7

Mullinalaghta scored a seven point victory over Carlow side Eire Og to secure progress to the quarter-final of the AIB Leinster senior football championship.

“They kicked some good points to get back with three points of us” explained Mullinalaghta manager Mickie Graham, Mullinalaghta having led by seven points at half time.

“They came back to within a goal of us with a minute or two to go, but we worked hard not to panic” explained Graham.

“We worked to get the next score, which we got and I knew once we went to a four point lead we would get over the line because I knew we wouldn’t give the ball away.”

Mullinalaghta will now face St.Loman’s in the Leinster quarter-final after the Westmeath side defeated Tyrrellspass in the Westmeath final on Sunday.

Mullinalaghta manager Mickie Graham spoke to John Duffy after the game.
