its been a great week for Longford Town after they defeated Shelbourne last week in the league and then in the EA Sports Cup on Bank Holiday Monday night in the EA Sports Cup .The draw for the next of the EA sports cup was made on Wednesday where it was determined that Longford Town will face Shamrock Rovers in the quarter finals. The Other quarter finals will see Cork City against Saint Patricks Athlethic, Sligo Rovers versus Galway United and reigning league champions Dundalk up against Waterford.

Longford Town currently have 2 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats from their opening 8 games in the SSE Airtricity League. Alan Mathews is the Longford Town manager and he’s been looking ahead to Saturday night’s game in the company of Shannonside FM’s Kevin McDermott.
