Longford Town host Wexford FC at the City Calling Stadium on Saturday evening in both sides second SSE Airtricity first division game of the season.
Neale Fenn’s Longford side had to settle for a two-all draw at home to Cobh Ramblers in their opening game of the new first division season.
Cobh having pinned Longford back after the hosts led two-nil at half time thanks to goals from Chris Mulhall and Captain Dean Zambra.
While Wexford recorded a one-nil victory away to Cabinteely courtesy of Eoin Porter’s 39th minute strike in the opening round two weeks ago.
Last season the town won three of the four league meetings with Wexford, the three town wins included a 2-1 away victory at Ferrycarrig Park and 1-0 and 5-0 victories at the City Calling Stadium.
The other encounter ending in a nil-all draw.
Longford are without Alan Kehoe for the next few games, as he went over on his ankle during Tuesday night’s training session.
While Wexford are without Conor Sutton who remains absent through a pre-season injury but is expected to return at the end of this month.
Shane Barnes is also ruled out have being forced off with an ankle injury against Cabinteely, but is nearing a return to full fitness.
Wexford welcome back Captain Ross Kenny who missed the 1-0 victory over Cabinteely with an ankle strain, but is now back in contention.
While Longford have announced that pre-season signing Andy O’Reilly has now left the club.
