Limerick won the All Ireland Under 21 championship

For the second time in three years, Limerick are Bord Gais Energy All-Ireland Under 21 Hurling champions.

They enjoyed a deserved six point victory over Kilkenny in today’s final in Thurles, winning out by 17 points to 11.

It’s their 6th All-Ireland title in this grade, while the Cats will now go 10 years without claiming the trophy.

Many of the Limerick players involved today had lost to Kilkenny in the minor final three years ago.

Man-of-the-match Aaron Gillane says they used that defeat as a motivator.

Earlier in the ‘B’ final Kerry defeated Wicklow by 2-12 to 2-8.
