Chairman: Leitrim GAA clubs to amalgamate over player shortages

The chairman of Leitrim GAA believes adult clubs in the county will amalgamate in the coming years because of a shortage of players.

At last night’s county board convention in the Bush Hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon, Terence Boyle said small clubs are struggling to field players because of the number of players travelling overseas during the summer.

He believes the club-mergers may be the only solution.
