Connacht Head Coach Pat Lam welcomes back two out-halves to training this week as the squad prepare for a huge final pool game away to Toulouse.

A losing bonus point may be enough for the Western province as they look to advance to the quarter-final stage of the Champions Cup. Last weekend Connacht had John Cooney operating as a makeshift fly half for the weekend trouncing of Zebre.

However, today’s injury report from the Sportsground has both Jack Carty and Shane O’Leary down for a return to training this week after their respective knee and concussion issues.

Also being brought back into Lam’s squad will be Jake Heenan, Eoghan Masterson, Ronan Loughney  (all knee), Quinn Roux (groin) and Peter Robb (concussion), Nepia Fox Matamua (chest).

Second row, Ultan Dillane is still rehabilitating his ankle injury, but will take a limited part in this week’s sessions as he looks to be back for Irelands Six Nations.

Denis Buckley’s foot injury sustained against Zebre will continue to be monitored by the province’s medics while Josh Rowland will miss around two months after picking up a knee injury on Connacht Eagles duty

It’s a big week for Pat Lam and his squad and with players coming back the battle for places in the starting fifteen will heat up providing the management with the positive problem of selecting their 23 man squad to head to Toulouse.

The game is on this Sunday in the Stade Ernest Wallon. Kick off for the game is 4:15pm
