Friday night was a busy night of FAI Cup action

Non-league Bluebell United have pulled off the shock of the night in the Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup.  Shane Stritch got the winner in their 1-nil victory at First Division Cabinteely as they advanced to the quarters.

Former Ireland international Keith Fahey was sent-off for Bluebell after receiving two yellow cards. The Cup dream ended for two other non-league teams.  Longford Town defeated Bangor Celtic 1-nil while Drogheda had a 5-1 success against Cobh Wanderers.

Holders Cork City eased to a 7-nil home victory over Athlone Town.  Kieran Sadlier, Achille Campion and Connor Ellis got two goals each for Cork.

Shamrock Rovers got a 3-nil win against Shebourne at Tolka Park and Galway Untied were 2-nil victors against St Patricks Athlethic.
