Wexford County Board say they’re ‘delighted’ to confirm that Davy Fitzgerald will be staying on as their senior hurling manager for 2018 and that they hope he will also continue on for 2019.
Fitzgerald had asked for time to evaluate his position for ‘personal reasons’ after their loss to Waterford in the All-Ireland quarter-finals and the board say they were happy to give the ‘right man to lead’ them that time.
Under his stewardship the Models gained promotion to Division One A of the League this year and also reached the Leinster Final, where they lost out to eventual All-Ireland champions Galway.
