David Clifford steals the show as Kerry defeat Cavan in All Ireland Minor Semi final

Cavans All Ireland Minor football Championship journey ended at the semi final stage in Croke Park this afternoon as Kerry ran out winners by 2-22 to 2-10.Kerry will now await the winners of Dublin and Derry in the All Ireland final as they vie for four in a row. David Clifford will dominated the headlines from the match today with a total of 1-10 with only three of that total coming from frees.

Cavan started well  and were trailing by just one point at 0-04 to 0-03 when Kerry hit six points in a row but an Oisin Pearson goal three minutes from half time put the Ulster side firmly back in the contest and at half time the scoreline put it at Cavan 1-04 Kerry 0-11.

The second half saw Kerry start well and after a scoring burst of 1-06 unanswered they led by 1-17 to 1-04 but Cavan never gave up and as they’ve shown throughout the season they can stage fightbacks and James Smith goal in the 56th minute put only five points between them. However Kerry finished strongly and ran out 12 points winners.
