Cork City must wait to be crowned champions

The champagne is on ice for Cork City managed by Roscommon native John Caufield as they must wait to be crowned League of Ireland Premier Division champions. Shamrock Rovers made it six wins in-a-row with a 3-1 victory over the champions in waiting at Tallaght.

Dundalk hammered St Pat’s 6-nil. Finn Harps are out of the relegation zone after their 2-nil win at Limerick. It was 1-all between Bohemians and Galway.

Waterford’s lead at the summit of the First Division has been cut to five-points.  They were held to a 1-all draw by Shelbourne while their title rivals Cobh got a late 1-nil win against Athlone.

Cian Coleman scored an injury-time winner for Cobh.  Longford Town beat Cabinteely 2-nil while UCD were 1-nil victors against Wexford.
