
The town-centre property, which measures more than 1,400 square feet, was among a number of Shannonside properties that went under the hammer yesterday.
Thirteen acres of land at Hermitage, Ballygar, sold for only €70,000, which equates to only 5,400 an acre.
A mid-terrace two-bedroom house at Carraig Breac, Drumshanbo, sold for only €55,000, but a four-bedroom house at Lisbrack in Longford town greatly exceeded its reserve to sell for €102,000.
However, a second-floor office suite at Red Leaf House in Longford town sold for only €25,000, while a detached four-bedroom bungalow at Cooladine, Ballaghaderreen, was bought for €28,000.
A number of other Shannonside properties received no bids at the auction, including the 12,000-square-foot Cornerstone Building in The Square, Strokestown.
