Paschal Donohoe has ruled himself out as a contender for Fine Gael leader.
It’s understood Enda Kenny will be given time over the weekend to set a timeline for his departure – or face a motion of no confidence.
Minister Donohoe was expected to throw his hat in the ring to replace the Taoiseach – but this morning confirmed he won’t be a candidate.
Others expected to put themselves forward include Simon Coveney, Simon Harris, Leo Varadkar and Frances Fitzgerald.
Pascal Donohoe says he’s happy with the job he has.
