Motorists on N61 safer from today

Road-Works-2016A new section of the N61 between Boyle and Roscommon has been re-opened this morning after a project of several months to improve safety.

The project to remove two particularly dangerous bends on the road at Treangry and Rathallen cost a total of just under €7 million euro.

Roscommon Council Senior Engineer Eugene Dwyer says while the improvements won’t mean a faster journey for motorists, they will be much safer.
