Gardai in Cork are investigating after the death of a man found in a public toilet early this morning.
They say a post-mortem will be needed to find out how he died.
The 42 year old man was found in an unresponsive state in a public toilet on the Grand Parade in city centre early this morning at around 1am.
Emergency services were called and the man was taken by ambulance to the Mercy University Hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.
Gardai are hoping the results of a post-mortem examination will establish how exactly the man died.
The man has been out socialising with family members and who raised the alarm when he failed to emerge from the toilet.
