Two walking tours of Mullingar will take place on Wednesday the 27th and Thursday the 28th of December to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the death of singer and entertainer Joe Dolan.
The Mullingar man died in hospital on St Stephen’s Day in 2007 after an illness.
His music has continued to be hugely popular with members of his family still playing it on a regular basis around the country.
Recordings have also been engineered over the past decade featuring the Mullingar man and the RTE concert orchestra.
A series of 10th anniversary shows are underway presently and one of them takes place in the Greville Arms in his home town on Thursday night.
Local historian Ruth Illingworth has conducted walking tours of places in Mullingar associated with the late entertainer since his death, and she will be holding two more on this Wednesday and Thursday.
