Athlone could be set for a jobs boost with the news a big biopharmaceutical company is seeking planning permission for a large development.
Intarcia Ireland Limited, which has its headquarters in Boston, wants to develop a 4,000-square-metre administration and laboratory building in the IDA Park at Garrycastle.
The application was lodged with Westmeath County Council this week, with a decision due by March 23rd.
Intarcia Therapeutics is a biopharma company committed to developing innovation therapies to prevent and manage serious chronic diseases.
