Appeal lodged over huge whiskey facility in Westmeath

Westmeath County Council’s decision to refuse permission for a multimillion-euro whiskey storage facility has been appealed against to An Bord Pleanála.

Last month, the local authority turned down the Moyvore project because it said it lacked architectural merit and design and contravened the county development plan.

However, Vault Storage has now lodged an appeal with an Bord Pleanála, but the planning body isn’t likely to make a decision for at least four months.
