Shannonside farmers set to lose most from CETA deal – Ming

cow-300x230The passing of the CETA trade deal between the EU and Canada will not only cost jobs but have a severe impact on the viability of Irish beef exports.

Roscommon MEP Luke Ming Flanagan says the EU employment committee even reported that the deal would cost 208,000 jobs.

Those in favour of CETA say it will boost EU economies and provide much needed trading opportunities with Canada.

Critics of the deal say it’s bad for workers, the environment and the food industry.

Luke Flanagan says farmers in this region will ultimately lose the most.
