‘Ming’ rules out general election bid

Former Roscommon TD Luke ‘Ming’ Flanagan has stated he will not be running in the next general election.

The former TD has been an MEP for the past three years but speculation had indicated he may be tempted to run for Dáil seat again in the near future.

However, speaking on the Joe Finnegan show this morning, the former Roscommon county councillor says his key priority for the next two years of the European Parliament is getting a better CAP deal for farmers.

And he believes that would be much more beneficial than running in an election here.
