Lough Ree RNLI assisted nine people aboard a motor cruiser on Lough Ree at Dog Island near Portrunny, in Roscommon yesterday afternoon.
The Irish Coast Guard received the distress call shortly after 1 pm yesterday.
The crew of The Eric Rowse arrived at the scene and performed the usual checks to ensure the people on board were uninjured, and then towed the vessel to navigable water.

Conditions at the time were reported dry and sunny.
The group was part of the guided tours that were arranged to mark National Heritage Week.
