Junior Minister confirms €18million unspent on Roscommon mental health won’t be returned

The almost €18 million euro which was underspent on mental health services in Roscommon can’t be returned to the county.

That’s according to the Minister of State with responsibility for Mental Health, Jim Daly.

A review of the services over the past three years found that almost €18 million euro in direct funding for Co Roscommon was sent back to the HSE over a two year period between 2012 and 2014.

There have been several calls since the publication of the report for the under-investment to be addressed and for the money to be made available once again.
