Irish Water is promising a new water mains for Ballaghadereen that will provide ‘a more reliable supply’ and put an end to frequent bursts which have caused disruptions to the town.
The project, worth 325 thousand euro, will involve the replacement of hundreds of metres of asbestos cement water main with a new pipe located along the Dublin road.
It stands to benefit around one thousand customers, and work will begin in September with a completion date of January 2018.
The funding is part of Irish Water’s investment plan where works have been prioritised to address the most critical issues in line with the company’s business plan.
