Gardaí are appealing for information on a car that they believe was involved in a spate of crimes in west Roscommon this week.
A van was broken into and damaged in Knockroe, Castlerea, between 2am and 3am on Saturday, but the thieves were disturbed by the owner and fled the scene.
A silver Citroën car was seen acting suspiciously in the area at the time and gardaí are seeking the public’s information on its movements.

They also believe it was used as a getaway car in similar incidents early on Thursday morning when four vehicles were broken into in different areas of nearby Ballaghaderreen.
Gardaí believe all five break-ins in west Roscommon were possibly connected.
