There are major concerns among the business community in Castlerea at the ongoing closure of the fire station.
Shannonside FM understands one very large employer in the west Roscommon town is very worried it has been without the service for almost nine weeks.
The station shut temporarily on January 20th because a number of staff are on sick leave and cover has been provided by neighbouring fire units.

Fianna Fáil TD Eugene Murphy claims he has ‘constructive’ talks with seven of the nine firemen in Castlerea, along with council officials, in an attempt resolve the matter.
He also admits the business community is concerned about ongoing closure of the station.
