The efforts in north Roscommon to raise thousands of euros to enable a local teenager to undergo cancer treatment are continuing this weekend.
Niamh Flanagan, from Boyle, was recently diagnosed with Osteosarcoma on her pelvis bone and she intends having vital surgery in Birmingham.
A total of €75,000 is needed and, according to the fundraising website gofundme.com, more than €25,000 has already been raised.
Tonight, a casino night will be held in aid of ‘Niamh’s Journey There’ in St Joseph’s Hall, Boyle, at 9 o’clock.
It promises to be a fun night, with prizes including tickets to a Manchester United football match and vouchers to the Kilronan Castle at Ballyfarnan in north Roscommon.
