The Charities Regulator is advising people that if they feel that bogus charity clothes collections are taking place to report it to the Gardai.
It follows the distribution of a flyer in Roscommon, asking people to fill a bag with unwanted clothes which would be collected from outside their homes for people in Eastern Europe.
The flyer quotes Matthew from the Bible and has a picture of a dove.
After investigations from the Tidy Towns, it’s emerged that the flyers so-called charity number does not show up on the Charities Register.
