Residents in Castlerea are urging the council ‘to get off its backside’ and re-open the fire station as a matter of urgency.
It shut five months ago after issues arose in relation to staff, and cover for the region is now provided from other stations across Roscommon.
A number of local meetings were held in response to the closure, and the local authority says it is pursuing a number of different avenues to resolve the problem.
