Campaign group continue to oppose Ballaghaderreen anaerobic digestion plant

A Ballaghaderreen campaign group has vowed to continue to fight to stop the controversial waste-to-energy plant in west Roscommon – even though the plant is almost complete.

BioCore Environmental is building an €8 million ‘BioPark’ at Ballinphuill, near Ballaghaderreen, which it claims will generate enough electricity to power 6,000 homes.

The controversial anaerobic digester plants is now complete, along with improvements to the road infrastructure in the area.
