A tidy towns volunteer is the 2016 Tesco Longford Community Person of the Year.
At the prize-giving ceremony in the store today, Geraldine Quinn was presented with the perpetual trophy by Councillor Padraig Loughrey, the cathaoirleach of Longford Municipal District.
The voting process had been under way for many months, with 800 members of the public casting their vote.

Geraldine came out on top because of her dedicated work in keeping the streets of the county town clean.
She is overjoyed with her success.
