Gardaí believe the incident, which occurred in the Aughnagore area of Clondra, took place between 8.45pm on Friday and 8.30am on Saturday.

A lock on a shed at a farmyard was broken and multiple items were stolen, including power tools.

A Metabo angle-grinder was stolen, as well as a 12-inch chainsaw, which had the name of the owner etched into the blade.

Two cordless drills, a Metabo and Bosch were both taken, as well as 2,000-watt Matebo nine-inch angle-grinder.

One four-amp inert welder was taken, along with 25 litres of compressor oil and a Karcher powerwasher.

A tool box, as well as a set of spanners and a stainless steel bucket, were also stolen in the raid, with gardaí estimating the entire value of items stolen up to €1,600.

Gardaí fear the items may be made available for sale in the coming days and are asking anyone locally who may be approached to purchase these items, or may have seen anything in the area at the time, last Friday night or Saturday morning, to contact them.
